The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) today warned consumers to avoid using tubes of toothpaste labeled as made in China, and issued an important alert to prevent toothpaste conatining the poisonous chemical diethylene glycol (DEG) form entering the United States. DEG is used in antifreeze and as a solvent.

WHAT IS IN YOUR TOOHPASTE?

Most toothpastes and mouthwashes are made with things your mother would never have let you put in your mouth when you were a kid: chemical whiteners and antibacterial agents that irritate gums, harsh abrasives that weat away enamel, and synthetic flavors, colors, and sweeteners that can leave behind traces of chemical residue. The good news is that now there’s a 100% natural way to brighten your smile, freshen your breath, and leave your mouth clean and healthy– one that both you and mom would love!
