“Effect of an Essential Oil Herbal Mouthwash on Oral Malodor”
Study performed at University of Rochester Eastman Dental Center, NY, USA

Objective: To evaluate the effect of an essential oil/herbal extract rinse on oral malodor over a 6 hour period.

Findings: Both the whole mouth and tongue malodor decreased signigicanlty after a single rinse and the effect remained at the end of the 6 hour study. The essential oil/herbal rinse was significantly more effective than chlorhexidine and common over- the-counter products in reducing malodor after a single rinse.
